We love crafting in our house, especially for holidays. It’s something about a good theme that can motivate us all to be creative and have fun with our projects. The perfect example is this Handprint Leprechaun Craft. It’s simple, uses common supplies and it is just too darn cute.

I’m personally obsessed with handprint crafts. I think that it is so adorable to see my daughter’s hand so tiny and small as she grows up. She loves making crafts with her hand too. I think it’s because it is HER hand and no one else’s will be the same.

Supplies:

Instructions:

The first thing to do is trace the child’s hand onto the orange construction paper and proceed to cut it out.

Next, draw on the leprechaun’s face.

Cut out eyebrows from the extra orange construction paper and glue these onto the leprechaun’s face below the hat and above the eyes.

Out of green construction paper, cut out the hat. You can embellish it however you would like. It’s important that kids are allowed to be creative when they create crafts.

Glue all of the pieces together on the upside-down hand and you’ve created a leprechaun out of your child’s hand! Or, they have created a leprechaun from their own hand. How fun is that??

Crafting is not just fun, it is beneficial too. All of the skills used to make this leprechaun are important for life as well. Including creativity, using scissors and glue, symmetry of the face, etc. These are all important skills that children can strengthen through crafts, just like this one!
